Please note that you are agreeing to our terms and conditions listed below when attending appointments with us.

We will contact you when your pet is ready for pick up via phone and or text. After this call you will have a 1 hour grace period to pick up. If you need longer than an hour we can provide a half day of daycare for $20 additional in which case you will have until closing for pick up. If you arrive after closing there will be a $5 fee for every minute after closing you are late up until 1/2 hour after closing. After which your pet will have to do boarding with us overnight for an additional $75 fee (cost of boarding). After this you must arrive between 8am-9am the next day, if you arrive after 9am there will be an addiontal $20 fee etc.

If your pet causes injury to any person of another animal, you will be held liable for any medical expenses associated with that damage.

If you have any preference about Whisker trimming please let us know ahead of time, otherwise the groomer will use their training and opinion to decide.

Flea + Tick: As per state law, If we find Fleas or ticks on your pet we will perform a flea + tick shampoo at your expense.

Possible Risks: Possible Risks : Issues like red or bloodshot eyes may be aggravated or instigated by the grooming process for a number or reason, dogs feeling stressed or tense can tense muscles to the point of popping vessels in the eye, or pulling on grooming loops during the grooming process can effect this as well. Also although we use hypoallergic shampoo and tear free shampoo on the face, eyes can be irritated in some cases when a dog is unusually sensitive. Cuts, nicks and scratches are also possible, especially when there is matting. Also, quicking of the nail is possible and more likely when a pet has black nails, or has not had a nail clipping in over 4 weeks.

Safety Release: Although accidents are very rare, there is a risk when dealing with animals. Your pet’s safety and comfort is our number one priority. In the event an accident does occur, you will be notified of the accident. If we feel it is serious, and the owner is not on-site, we will seek immediate veterinary care for your pet at the pet owner's expense. This release gives Zen Animals full authorization to seek medical treatment from our preferred Veterinary Clinic.

Payment : We are accepting cash only at this time. If you cannot pay cash please advise us ahead of time so we can try and organize to accept a Venmo, zelle, cash app., Apple Pay or credit card for you for a 5% processing fee. This will not always be an option so please try and have cash ready at pick up.

Gratuity: Please note that there is an automatic 5% gratuity added tp all grooming packages, this can be removed upon request. If you wish to leave an additional tip this is also welcomed.

Matted Coats : Matted coats can severely impair the skin, making it much more vulnerable to irritation and infection. Whenever a pet is matted we will do the $10 irritation bath which would greatly reduce any likelihood of irritation from the grooming process. However please be advised that whenever there is a matting there is an elevated risk that your dog already has an irritated skin that will be revealed once the hair is removed or that they’re going to be much more sensitive to brushing, drying and blades. Also even with the Irritation bath there is a much greater risk of nicks, cuts and abrasions due to the compromised skin and the blades having to be used so close to the skin. When pet’s are matted we have 2 options. We can either shave underneath the mats, meaning that the haircut will be as short as the mats are close to the skin. The 2nd option when pets are matted is to try and brush out or demat them. If you want a longer (or not shaved) haircut, this is what we will have to do. The groomer will advise you If it will be possible to demat your pet if is what you wish to do. In this case there will be a dematting fee which will be advised by the groomer based on time and difficulty. If your pet is matted we will automatically do a mandatory irritation bath for an additional $10 to protect the skin from working with the blade/brush so close to it.

Grooming Time: Grooming times depend a lot on the individual dog and situation. Before we begin we will allow your dog some time to play relax and adjust to the space while we monitor their body language to see when they are relaxed and ready to start the grooming. We utilize play areas or personal play pens in between grooming stages as well. Grooming is broken down into 3 stages. The breaks between stages is essential so we can avoid causing stress and tension for your pet, and this is why grooming can take anywhere from 2-6 hours for haircut + bat packages and 2-4 hours for Professional Bath Packages.

Vaccines for Dogs: NYC law requires Dogs to be be vaccinated just to walk on the street. The required vaccines are rabies, bordetella and Parvo (DA2PP/ Disptemper). My dog is up to date on these Vaccines.

Health Check: My pet does not demonstrate any signs of contagious illness. 

Cancellation: Please give us at least 24 Hour notice to cancel or reschedule any appointments otherwise you can be charged a $30 late cancellation fee
